Spark 2022 - Nashville

It’s been a bit since I’ve posted but it’s been super busy in the Igan world. Spark 2022 was in Nashville, my daughter, Olivia and I made the drive and it was nothing short of amazing. Getting to meet my fellow support group friends in person, listening to the speakers (my favorite was the explanation of a Kidney Biopsy), having drinks and snacks with new friends (yes, I’m looking at you Lisa,, Don, Amanda, Elena, Gisela, John & Chris!) MEETING the biologic and medical pioneers in our disease trying for new therapies and resources for patients.

Olivia and I at Centennial Park pre conference.

It was exhausting, don’t get me wrong…. but exhausting in the way you will treasure for many years to come.

The reminder #youarenotalone is how I feel now that I’ve met and spent time with this crew of people genuinely helping each other out. The people who struggle with Igan are IMPRESSIVE…. I have a few new friends to look towards for inspiration. My daughter has a new posse of Igan Friends, she feels less alone in this journey.

Me and my mini me! She was amazing the whole weekend!

In all sincerity, the meeting has inspired me to get MORE involved with Igan and their drug partners. It feels good to network and speak with others about this disease.

One more little thing from Spark…. I’m going to practice. and I will pass along to you. Let’s spend 10 minutes per day remembering what we are Grateful for…. my cup feels full these days…. ever so grateful for all the blessings I have in my life. That tidbit is from our speaker, Adam Markel. He did a fantastic job!

Kidney life is humbling, inspiring & uniquely special. Any of you enjoy Spark as well? Or feel inspired to be more involved with your disease process? I love your comments! Happy Sunday.

Spark 2023 - We’ll be there!
